TIPS FROM THE LAKE COUNTY SHERRIF'S OFFICE

Just wanted to remind everyone that with the start of school to re-address safety issues with your children, especially about safety at bus stops.

We have had several snatch and grabs of purses from around the county around shopping plazas so just be extra aware of what is going on around you. We are still seeing the theft of copper wire from around the county even at communication tower sites.

We have had a couple of canoes stolen from the North end of the county. Also, just as a hint, it would not be a bad idea every so often to check your tags on your vehicles to make sure that they have not been switched on you.

VIAL OF LIFE

Vial of Life is a free program that provides necessary medical information to the responding emergency personnel. Vial of Life participants complete a medical information form, place it into a medical vial which is then placed into the refrigerator in plain view. A sticker is placed on the front door to alert emergency   personnel that medical information is in the refrigerator. In many cases, this information could prove invaluable to responders.

Any Greater Pines resident wishing to participate in this program may request a vial by contacting the Greater Pines HOA at:  www.greaterpineshoa.com
